Are you looking for designers
to develop your next public design?

Industrial design firm Studio Rotor is experienced in public design.
Whether you’re developing a self bag drop, EV charging station or other self-service system, we help you bring it to market.

Design for airports

Design for airports

Studio Rotor has worked on many projects for airports and airport suppliers. We take time to speak with all stakeholders, and look for ways to combine great passenger experience with smart logistics and cost reduction. Examples: self bag drop, wayfinding, security gate, self check in kiosk.

Design for (train) stations

Design for (train) stations

How can we create an environment in which train or bus passengers feel informed and comfortable? How to cope with the broad variety of passengers: frequent travellers, first-time users? These are typical questions that we love to answer in our design projects. Examples: entrance gate, information panels, ticket vending machine.

Street-side public design

Street-side public design

How to design a self-service kiosk that is both user-friendly and vandalism proof? How to grab a user’s attention while not cluttering up the public space? Studio Rotor enjoys working on these kinds of challenges. Examples: ATM, rental bike dispenser, public toilet, parking machine.

EV-chargers

EV-chargers

We combine your smart technology and our knowledge of user experience and design to help shape an upcoming market. Let’s find new ways to make the transition to electric transport possible! Examples: home chargers, chargers for electric buses, car chargers and fast chargers.

Other public design

Other public design

Studio Rotor has worked on self-service systems inside passenger terminals, along highways, on the street-side. We’re always looking to push the boundaries beyond existing categories and find new ways to combine faster processes with a great user experience. Let’s hear what you are thinking of!

Experts in public design

We’ve designed all kinds of public products, with self-service functionality. We ensure that your products can easily be used by a wide variety of persons: new users, professional maintenance personnel, wheelchair users.

Designing from a user’s perspective

Studio Rotor approaches a public design outside-in. Which means that we first decide on what is needed from a user’s perspective. What is a logical layout of the user interface? What is an ergonomic height for a touchscreen? What functionality should be digital, which should be physical? And in a later stage: how can we arrange the internal components to fit with the desired external layout?

Looks good, easy to use

We believe that great design not only looks good. It should be very easy to use as well. We build many mock-ups and prototypes to test our assumptions. Usability and ergonomics just can’t be experienced in CAD. Through these quick tests and prototypes, we improve the functional design in an early phase.

“The design of the wallbox was well received at the tradeshow. I’m happy with Studio Rotor’s design work. Thanks again!”
